As a not-for-profit agency we provide counselling in return for a donation, with no-one turned away because of their financial situation. To make our much-in-demand services available to everyone we therefore rely heavily on income received from our varied fundraising activities. Donations received through Bequests, provide us with the security of knowing that our counselling and group work can continue into the future.
We have established a Home and Family Trust Endowment Fund to ensure your bequest helps future generations beyond your lifetime.
It is helpful to allow your Executor and Home and Family Counselling the discretion to determine where your bequest is most needed at the time it is received. Most importantly the Home and Family Trust Endowment Fund ensures that your bequest supports the future work of our organisation. Adding a bequest to your will helps to ensure this vital work will continue.
Changing an existing will is not complicated or difficult. You can review or update your will at any time. When doing so you have the opportunity to consider making a bequest to Home and Family Counselling.
If you have a will and wish to make a bequest to Home and Family Counselling you can make an
amendment to your will called a codicil. We have included a codicil form in the bequest pack that
you can complete and send to your solicitor. It should not cost you anything to add a codicil to your will.
Alternatively, visit your solicitor or your legal advisor to discuss the contents of your will.
A percentage of remaining estate after other gifts and debt are cleared. This type of bequest ensures
that family members and special friends are provided for.
Regular will updates are required to inflation proof this type of gift. This is because the value of a fixed
sum will decrease over time, as the cost of living increases.
This may include your home, other property, stocks, shares and other investments, or a portion
of any of these.
If you are considering, or have already included Home and Family Counselling in your will and
feel comfortable advising us, please telephone us or return the enclosed form. This will be kept completely confidential. Telling us about your bequest gives us the opportunity to thank you for
your special gift. There is a form in the Bequest pack that you can fill in and return to us.
If you have questions about making a bequest to Home and Family Counselling please contact the
Executive Director or our Bequest Coordinator. We would be happy to meet with you in confidence. You may also like to visit our website for more information. www.homeandfamily.org.nz

Please complete and forward to your lawyer. Your lawyer will need to prepare
a codicil, make sure that it fits with your will and formalise it as a legal document.
He/she will then need to have you sign the finalised document and have
it witnessed.
