Shelley - Site Manager

 


Shelley has worked as a counsellor in women’s health followed by family work at Copeland House prior to joining the team at Home and Family in 2003.

Shelley brings a commitment to a process of discovery as she engages with people and the challenges they face. She enjoys working with individuals, couples and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences.  Shelley has a Bachelor of
Social Practice in Counselling, a Certificate in Communication Skills and a Certificate in Clinical Supervision. Shelley is also a Family Court approved counsellor and a member of NZAC.

Availability: Monday—Friday

 

 

Stephen
Individual, Couple and Family Counsellor, Supervision

 

 

Stephen brings more than twenty years of collective experience working in the counselling, pastoral care, mental health, disability and the social work sectors. His passion is assisting individuals, couples and families to connect with their values and express these in ways that creates harmonious and loving relationships. Stephen has a wealth of experience and training in the areas of grief, communication and personal growth. He has a Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and is a trainer in Non-Violent Communication (NVC). He also has a Certificate in Clinical Supervision and is a member of the Aotearoa NZ Association of Social Workers and the Western Buddhist Order.

Availability: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

 

 

 

 

 

Christine - Counsellor

Individual, Couple and Family Counsellor

 

 

Christine enjoys working with a wide range of clients and
issues. She believes that counselling offers people the opportunity to stop and reflect on the influence of problems in their lives and to be assisted in seeking a change towards how they would prefer their lives to be. Christine is committed to providing a positive environment for clients to explore and understand thoughts, feelings and experiences. Christine has a Diploma in Counselling and a Diploma in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling from Unitec and is a member of NZ Association of Counsellors. She is married with three teenage sons.

Availability: Mondays

 

 


 

Heather - Counsellor 

Individual, Couple and Family Counsellor

Heather is a trained Narrative Therapy counsellor and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling. She has also been involved as a
Eurhythmy teacher at Steiner schools. Heather has always been passionate about people: their lives, relationships and how they communicate. She enjoys working collaboratively with people to assist them in improving aspects of their lives which have become problematic. Heather sees her role as a counsellor is to provide a safe and supportive environment in which new stories of identity can be developed. She is married with two adult children and two grandchildren.

Availability: Tuesday and Thursday

Stefanie 

Individual, Couple and Family Counsellor

 

Stefanie has Diplomas in Counselling and Social Work. She is originally from Bonn in Germany and has also lived and trained in San Francisco. Stefanie has worked in a variety of settings including the CYFS call centre, sports therapy with children with hyperactivity issues, adults with mental health issues and advocacy work. She has also facilitated self development groups in Germany. Stefanie is very passionate about her work and incorporates expressive arts and sand tray therapy extensively in her counselling practice. She enjoys supporting people who are healing from trauma and abuse and to help them create fuller and happier lives and relationships. She is married and has three young children. 

Availability: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and  Saturday 9am to 1.30pm

 

 

 


Paul

Individual, Couple’s, Family Counsellor and Supervision

 

 

Paul has 25 years of experience as a Social Worker and Counsellor is the UK and New Zealand. He sees the therapeutic process as a journey and enjoys supporting clients so that they can explore and find meaning in their lives.
Paul holds qualifications in Social Work, Psychotherapy and Social Services.


Availability: Saturdays

 

 

 

 

Hazel

Individual, Couple and Family Counsellor

 

Hazel has a Bachelor in Counselling and has been working in the field of counselling since 2002 and is a member of the NZ Association of Counsellors. Hazel has a particular interest in gender issues and how personal interpretations and expectations of gender can support or diminish the quality of relationships. Hazel believes that counselling is a caring and compassionate endeavour that supports the navigation of life and its challenges in ways that align to the integrity and values of those involved. She views being a participant in the life of others as a privilege.

 

Availability: Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays

 


 

Anya 

 

Child and Family Counsellor

Anya is a specialist children’s counsellor at Home and Family. Anya has a Diploma in Psychosynthesis and a Post Graduate qualification in Expressive  Therapy from AUT and has been a member of NZAC since 1993. She is committed to the expressive counselling process as a way of creating richer communication in families and to give children ways of coping in their lives and growing in self esteem. Her style of using art and play therapies together with more structured skill based counselling provides a steady environment for children. Anya works gently with both children and their families, creating a safe environment to promote learning and change.

Lynn  

Counsellor, Individuals and Couples - Multicultural Counselling 

Lynn is originally from China and has been living in Auckland since 2002. She has a Masters Degree in Counselling with first class honours from  University of Auckland and she is a member of the NZ Association of Counsellors. She has worked with clients from young teenagers to older adults, both male and female, of varying sexual orientation, religious beliefs, social background and ethnicity. Her own ability to live with deep involvement in her own Chinese culture and in her adopted culture of New Zealand

supports her ability to work with clients who have different areas of comfort and need. She provides individual, couple, and family counselling. She is also an experienced group leader.

She works every Monday in North Shore office and every Friday in Mt Eden office. Please leave a message to her at 09 630 8961 extn 4.

Kerry

Student Counsellor

Kerry is currently in her last year of her Post - graduate Diploma in Counselling. After working as a Registered Nurse for 15 years, she sought a change in her human service vocation and obtained a Certificate in Counselling and Family Therapy. Kerry also has a diploma in Life Coaching, is trained inhypnotherapy, and is an NLP practitioner.

 

Kerry is interested in connecting with you, your intentions, hope and preferred view of yourself and your relationships. She is married with three teenage children.
