Home and Family Counselling is a community-based counselling service providing professional counselling to individuals, couples and groups.
We have two centres in Auckland - Mt Eden and Glenfield, where we provide counselling for adults, children and teenagers.

People seek counselling for trauma, anxiety and abuse through to relationship difficulties, grief and change, and issues associated with addiction.

• Newly settled migrant women who have experienced trauma either before or after migrating to New Zealand (New Migrant Programme)
• Children and young people who have witnessed or experienced violence in the home (Marvelz Programme, approved by the Family Court)
• Women leaving a violent relationship (Freedom from Fear, approved by the Family Court)
• Young people in schools (Creating Respectful Relationships,  Anger without Aggro and Talking it Through)
• Multi-lingual counselling in Mandarin and Hindi
• Women and children in women's refuge centres (click on the name of the programme for further information)

Home and Family Counselling also fulfils an advocacy role on behalf of clients through submissions to local and national policy makers; and maintains active membership of local networks, and of the New Zealand Federation of Voluntary Welfare Organisations, a national coordination service for not-for-profit organisations, provides vehicles for this role. Our Director, Mary, is a member of the Federation's national executive.

We are an incorporated society with charitable status from the Inland Revenue Department and rely heavily on the generosity of donors and supporters to meet the ever-increasing needs of Auckland's growing population.
